For over a decade, the United Reformed Church has been supported by Congregational & General Insurance plc in recognising innovative projects taking place throughout the UK.

Awards were recently presented at the United Reformed Church General Assembly in Loughborough, to projects that are having a positive affect within their community.

Seaforth Community Shop – Caradoc Mission

 

A shop in Seaforth that doesn’t charge for its products, but instead serves as a hub for the community. Read press release



Children’s Allotment – Southchurch Park URC, Southend

 

The Children’s Allotment was created to give children access to green areas where they can grow their own plants and vegetables, which are then sold in the locality for a nominal amount.

Peaceful solutions for conflict resolution – High Cross, Tottenham

 

A Tottenham-based project that teaches young people anger management skills to deal with life
on the streets.

Café Unity – Heald Green United Reformed Church

 

The café is open to anyone in the area or passing trade. The ambience is very much in keeping with other high street café brands and in the evenings the café is opened up for youth and projects and meetings.
